Our Pass Photo of the Week—Declan from Manchester!

Declan pass photo in PMF frame

It’s been a while, friends, but PassMeFast is finally back with a brand new top pass photo of the week! We hope you made it through lockdown number 2 in one piece and with most of your sanity intact. Thankfully, PassMeFast’s learners did.

Driving pupils across England have been patiently waiting to get their lessons back up and running. When the DVSA gave us the all clear to restart at the end of last week, it was all systems go!

Some learners had tests booked just days after lockdown was lifted. They then had the added pressure of having very limited practice time before the big day. We’re therefore extra impressed with those that overcame these tricky circumstances and came out victorious! The (ex)learner we’re celebrating today is one of those people.

This week’s top pass photo of the week goes to… Declan from Manchester!

Bravo, Declan! How’d he get here? Well, for starters, he signed up for a PassMeFast course.

First things first

Declan came to PassMeFast with 20 hours of previous driving experience and a theory test pass certificate that was just about to expire. Given that the pandemic was already causing delays and uncertainty, we advised Declan that it would probably be best if he retook his theory before launching into lessons. “Don’t worry, though!“, we assured him, “We’ll fast-track that theory test for you!

And fast-track it we did, managing to get Declan a test appointment that was just a few days away. He passed it with ease and the ball was now well and truly rolling!

Next up we put Declan in touch with local Manchester instructor, Nahida, who was going to teach his 20 hour course. They were a great fit and Declan let us know that from his first lesson with her he felt confident that he’d be test ready in time. This is the year 2020, though, so of course things didn’t completely go to plan. The government announced a new national lockdown and Declan’s lessons came to a halt.

Back on the road

By the time driving lessons and tests were allowed to resume in tier 3 areas, Declan’s practical test date was just 4 days away. Talk about cutting it fine! Nahida got him booked straight back in for lessons and they wrapped up the course just in time.

As you’ve probably guessed, this is a story with a very happy ending. Declan passed his test first time and is now a fully qualified driver. Great work!

Learning to drive after lockdown

We’re pleased to confirm that lessons and tests are now being carried out across England, regardless of which tier you are in. Do keep in mind, though, that the lockdown period has resulted in significant delays to tests and instructor availability.

If learning to drive is one of your 2021 aspirations, we recommend getting booked in as soon as possible. Our team will then get to work securing you a test date and organising a suitable instructor. To get an idea of wait times in your area, give us a ring on 0333 123 4949. You can also browse our courses and prices over on the main website.

PassMeFast is committed to making driving lessons as safe as possible. For the latest news and updates on how the pandemic is affecting lessons and tests, keep an eye on our dedicated COVID-19 post.

Be sure to come back next week to see who else has the honour of being named our top pass photo of the week!

Until then, good luck, happy driving and wash those hands!
