East Yorkshire Driving Test Centres: Your Essential Guide

Here at PassMeFast, we understand how important it can be for learners to know the area where they’ll be taking their driving test. It’s for this reason that we launched our series of essential guides to local test centres. Today, we look in detail at the East Yorkshire driving test centres.

Though there may only be two test centres to cover here, there’s certainly plenty to get stuck into. So, let’s dive into the East Yorkshire driving test centres!

To begin with, let’s start in one of East Yorkshire’s best-loved coastal towns: Bridlington. This town is home to one of the two East Yorkshire driving test centres, which also holds the distinction of having the county’s highest pass rate. Due to its location, Bridlington driving test centre is the best option for much of the northern half of East Yorkshire. This includes not only Bridlington itself, but also the Driffield area.

The closest train station to the test centre is Bridlington, which is roughly 20 minutes away on foot. Remember, though, that PassMeFast courses come with home and workplace pickups. As a result, you won’t need to worry about getting to and from the test centre!

Learners here will start at the Bessingby Industrial Estate, close to the A614 and A615 roads, which may be busy. Depending on your test route, however, you may soon find yourself on narrower rural roads. You needn’t worry too much about these challenges, though—after your course, you should have a great chance of passing. One learner who’s already moved from L plates to P plates in Bridlington is Chris, who passed with us in February 2018. Here’s what he had to say about his experience:

Absolutely awesome—passed my test today! PassMeFast are amazing. Jordan has been brilliant; found me an absolutely awesome instructor. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The second of the two East Yorkshire driving test centres can be found in the county’s biggest city: Hull. The Hull driving test centre is a great option for the southern half of East Yorkshire, especially the Hull area itself. Those living in the Goole area, however, may find that the Pontefract test centre in West Yorkshire is more convenient.

If arriving at the Hull test centre by public transport, you should head to the Pearson Way bus stop. You can reach this stop via the 8X and 677 services. The closest train station, meanwhile, is Hull Paragon Interchange, around two miles away.

While you’re taking your course in the Hull area, you’re likely to encounter a number of roundabouts on the A1033 and A1165. Though rural areas are unlikely to feature, you will end up in quieter, residential areas on your route. As a result, you’ll need to have keen observation skills, and show that you can approach and deal with hazards calmly, promptly and effectively.

If you manage to do all of that, you’ll join Rachel as one of our PassMeFast alumni in Hull. Here’s what Rachel thought of her course with us:

Absolutely brilliant. Passed first time. Brilliant instructor who I cannot thank enough! Overall, 10/10.

Regardless of your prior experience, PassMeFast has a course for you. Check out our courses, find your perfect match, and you could pass at one of the East Yorkshire driving test centres within weeks!
