Meet An Instructor: Michelle

Meet an ADI Michelle feature image

PassMeFast wouldn’t be where it is today if not for its fleet of experienced driving instructors. Helping hundreds of learner drivers across the UK ditch the L plates, our instructors are the best in the field. We’re always keen to celebrate our ADIs’ hard work, which is why we launched our Meet an ADI series. This month, we’re giving you an exclusive look at yet another PassMeFast instructor.

We’d like you to give a warm welcome to Michelle—an ADI who joined PassMeFast earlier this year…

About Michelle

Age: 45

What age were you when you passed your test? 17.

Did you pass first time? Yes.

How long have you been an ADI? 18 years.

Which car do you drive? Mercedes A Class.

Automatic or manual? Both.

Which test centres do you cover? Blackpool, Chorley, Heysham, Preston and Southport.

What was your first car? Fiat Uno.

What’s your dream car? Range Rover.

What motivated you to become an instructor? My dad was a flying and driving instructor. I enjoy meeting different people.

What’s your proudest moment as an instructor? My son and stepsons all passing first time.

What’s the most enjoyable thing about being a driving instructor? Self employed and helping people gain independence.

And the most frustrating thing about being a driving instructor? Other road users being impatient; not being able to give my own pupils a pass certificate when I feel they are ready. Pupils cancelling lessons last minute.

What’s your biggest pet peeve about other drivers? No patience for learners, lack of signals and road rage.

What’s your favourite pass story? Teaching a deaf person who passed first time.

What’s the craziest pass celebration you’ve seen? A bare bottom!

What’s the most common thing people fail on? Not paying attention on the day.

What’s the best piece of advice you’d give to new drivers? Take your time and look and check everywhere!

When and why did you join PassMeFast? 2018. Not committing to long term pupils sometimes has flexible working benefits.

What do you do to relax? Spa, swim and travel.

Do you have any hobbies or interests? Horse riding, cooking and 4×4 driving.
