Meet an Instructor: Frank

PassMeFast wouldn’t be anywhere without its experienced fleet of DVSA-approved instructors. They are invaluable in aiding hundreds of learner drivers across the UK with passing their driving test and getting on the road fast. If you’re looking to book onto a PassMeFast course, you might be interested in getting to know the instructors you might be learning with. With that in mind, we created the “Meet an ADI” series—giving you a behind-the-scenes look at our top ADIs.

Last month, we kicked off our new series with Ann. This month, we’re looking at Frank—an instructor who has worked with PassMeFast since 2016. So, without further ado, say hello to Frank!

About Frank

What age were you when you passed your test? 21

Did you pass first time? Yes!

How long have you been an ADI? Since 2008.

Which car do you drive? Citroen DS3.

Automatic or manual? Manual.

Which test centres do you cover? Hyde, Chadderton and Rochdale.

What was your first car? Ford Escort.

What’s your dream car? Land Rover Defender.

What motivated you to become a driving instructor? My instructor.

Have you ever taught any of your family members to drive? Yes.

What’s your proudest moment as an instructor? When I reached Grade 6 and then Grade A!

What’s the most enjoyable thing about being a driving instructor? Watching people grow and then pass.

What’s the most frustrating thing about being a driving instructor? Other drivers.

What’s your biggest pet peeve about other drivers? Ignorance towards others.

What’s your favourite pass story? All of them!

What’s the craziest pass celebration you’ve seen? Champagne being opened after returning home.

What’s the most common thing people fail on? The simplest of things. Students tend to worry about specific things and forget the simplest!

What advice would you give to a new driver? This is a marathon, not a race. Be patient with yourself and accept that we will make mistakes—that’s how we learn.

Why did you decide to join PassMeFast? I was asked if I could do a course for them.

Finally, when you’re not teaching, what do you do to relax? Spend time at home. I enjoy doing anything that gives me time and space to think away from the job.
