Happy New Year, PassMeFast readers! We’re ringing in January with yet another instalment in our Meet an ADI series! Not familiar with it? Each month, we interview one of our many driving instructors with the aim of helping you get to know them a bit better. In previous months, we’ve taken a look at ADIs from Staffordshire, Greater Manchester and London. This January, we’re heading over to Bedfordshire to say hi to local ADI Claire!
Claire joined the PassMeFast team in early 2020 and has had almost three years of teaching experience so far! Get to know more about her below!
What age were you when you passed your test? 17!
How many times did it take you to pass? 2 times.
How long have you been an ADI? Almost three years.
What was your first car? A Volkswagen Polo.
What car do you drive now? A Volkswagen Polo!
What transmission is your car? Manual.
What’s your dream car? A 4 x 4!
What motivated you to become an instructor? The ability to teach.
Have you taught any family members to drive? Yes!
What’s your proudest moment as an instructor? My first pass!
What’s the most enjoyable thing about being a driving instructor? Watching people succeed who didn’t think they could.
And the most frustrating thing about being a driving instructor? Usually other road users!
What’s your biggest pet peeve about other drivers? Bad driving habits.
What’s your favourite pass story? A guy in his 30s who had taken multiple attempts before, however I ended up teaching him and he passed straight away!
What’s the most common thing people fail on? Observations.
What’s the best piece of advice you’d give to new drivers? Follow the rules and be patient!
When did you join PassMeFast and why? Early 2020—because I wanted more students from different areas.
What do you do to relax? Watch the motorbikes on the TV.
Do you have any hobbies or interests? Riding motorbikes.
