Driving Instructors

The lifeblood of PassMeFast is its fleet of DVSA-approved driving instructors. These are the men and women who accompany all of our learners on their journey from total novice to confident driver. In this section, we’ll introduce the members of our team, who cover the length and breadth of the country and boast the experience to help even the most nervous of learners get their licence in a matter of weeks. We’ll also be asking for our instructors’ opinions on the hot topics of the day, keeping our finger on the pulse as the world of motoring changes around us.

The ADI Standards Check

Checklist

Nothing quite beats the feeling of earning that ADI green badge. While it probably feels like you’ve jumped through all of the hoops they could throw at you, the DVSA examiners aren’t quite done with you yet. At least once every 4 years, you’ll be required to undergo the ADI standards...

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the PassMeFast Blog, you’re sure to have noticed our Meet an ADI series. If not—where have you been?! In this series, we’re profiling the driving instructors who make up the beating heart of the PassMeFast team. Driving Instructor Insurance—Everything You Need To Know

Car insurance road sign

No matter how careful we are as drivers, there’s always the possibility of something causing damage to our vehicles. When you’re a driving instructor, however, the risk of damage is even higher. Teaching learners how to drive increases the likelihood of accidents on the road, which is why driving instructor insurance is so important. You need an insurance policy that meets your needs and keeps your vehicle, yourself and your learners protected. To help you through this process, we’ve put...

Do You Have What It Takes To Become A Driving Instructor?

Red car over a book cartoon

Have you ever thought about a career as a driving instructor? Being your own boss, a life on the road (though perhaps not in the Mick Jagger sense), not being tied to a desk, regularly cranking down the window to feel the breeze in your hair… Yep, it can all sound pretty great when you think of the perks. Becoming and then sustaining a life as an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor), though, is a serious commitment. If you’re the right kind...

Learners on the Motorway: What Do Instructors Think?

Signs on the M4 motorway near Briton Ferry for the A483 and M4 roads

If you’re a learner, you don’t have quite the same freedom on the road as a driver with a full licence. You must, for example, be accompanied at all times while driving. However, one restriction that had affected learners is now no longer in place. That’s because, as of June 4th, 2018, rule 253 of the Highway Code has changed, meaning that learners can now drive on the motorway. When those learners do hit the motorways, though, they won’t be alone in...

Should You Take Motorway Lessons With Your Instructor?

A1 motorway in Tyne and Wear

If you’ve been hiding under a rock recently, you might not be aware that from June 4th, learner drivers will be able to drive on the motorway—under the supervision of an Approved Driving Instructor. This will have a huge impact on learner drivers and other road users alike. The motivation behind this new change is to increase road safety and give learners the skills they need to tackle one of the more difficult aspects of driving: motorways. The question you...
